TUCSON BOUND

Well tomorrow (6/23/08) we are off to Tucson. SIGGHHHHHH. I have my surgery on 6/24/08 - I have to be there at 630am. They will insert a guide wire through my back and into my kidney. That is for the urologist which is the surgeon. They can then go down over the guide wire and go directly to my kidney and do their work. I'm hoping and praying that they will be able to get most of the stones out, but, I have to keep in the back of my mind that - that might not happen either. When I awake I will have a catheter coming out of my back - it is like a regular catheter, but it comes out of my back. They will leave this in, so in 2 weeks I'll go back again and do this all over again, until they get all these babies out of there. All through this I will be homebound and have a RN come into my house 2-3 a week and a bath lady also, she'll come 2-3 week also. I can't take a shower or bath, so she assists me getting cleaned up. I can't wash around the area, so she does it. But with the weather being like it is right now, I'm going to have to do something, cuz you HAVE to take a shower everyday cuz it is so hot. We have been averaging 115 degrees everyday for over a week now and there is no break coming either. Being at home all the time is very depressing but with all the support that I have it's ok. You get to missing going out and doing stuff, even if it is a ride in the car. (just try to ride in a car with a tube coming out of your back, believe me, it's hard) Last time, when we were coming home I leaned over and laid my head on the dashboard that is the most comfortable spot I could find. But the weather was way different then. Right now if I would do that I would be BEET red, cuz of the heat. So we'll see what will happen when I get home. So anyway, please think of me on Tuesday as I am very nervous. Pray for me too please!

I love each and everyone of you.............take care and I'll keep you updated. Hopefully when I get on my feet I'll be able to come on and see what everyone has been up to.

XOXO-------Ellen

YARD SALE (6/14/08)

We went garage sale-ing on Saturday and I almost died and thought I went to Heaven. LOL 2 garage sales with scrapbooking stuff. And the main stuff was scrapbooking. Well thanks to my hubby we got an early start and was about the first ones there. So I ended up getting some sizzix sizzlet empty containers for storage for $2.00 each. I got some stamps for $1.00 and some of them were $.25 cents. WOO HOO.......It was a stampin' up consultant and a close to my heart consultant, just trying to clean out some stuff. The other garage sale I got these 2 plastic paint buckets, full and never been opened with stuff that you can make out of foam. Well I really don't like what I call foamies (foam pieces) but I thought, hey why couldn't I take the pattern off of them and make the stuff out of paper.......MMMM pretty cleaver Ideal I thought. Well I got both of them for $3.00. Each can has 4 different projects in them. So I got 8 new ideals for $3.00. YEAHHHHHH And of course, they had plenty of stickers and papers at each one of them, but I am a paper HOG.....and have to much here at home, so I didn't even look at the paper, out of sight out of mind, right????? Well I was able to pull it off in my mind anyone. LOL Anyway thought I would share on that note. Take care.........xoxo

KIDNEY ADVENTURE

Well my Left Kidney adventure will start this week. I will be in Tucson this week, seeing the nephrologist one day and the urologist the next day, with pre-admitting the same day as the urologist. I then have my left kidney surgery on June 24th. SIGHHHHHH. So I'll be laid up for awhile. But I'll try to keep an eye on what everyone is doing. But the thing is, once they start the surgery, I will have to go back every 2 weeks to have surgery again, until they are finished with what they are doing. Needless to say this will be not so good of a time to be going down there with it being 115 degrees today (Father's Day). It is suppose to keep up with those temperatures. YIKES!!!! So I am really enjoying our pool right now, cuz once the surgery starts, I won't be able to get in it no more, until they are completely finished. So after the sun goes down we are getting in the pool and enjoying every bit of it. So you all be good, I'll let you know how things progress. HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY, HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY, HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY JOY. (who sings that?)

This is the card we made. You take something that she has called sticky paper A-2 for cards. She has another one that is letter sized. But sorry there was no item number of the stuff that I have but you get 50 of the A-2 size for $8.20. Then you get a 6x6 piece of lace tablecloth or a doily and place it on the sticky paper. Make sure you don't have no lumps or bumps, then sprinkle on what you want your background to be. In this one we used a goldest color. Then you pull off the piece of lace and you have whatever design that was on the lace left and you decorate according to your preference. So what you see that is kinda whites looking with a red line going through it - that is the design that we had left. So we used other glitter to fill in. Then to make the inside of the card a little pretty, she cut off about 1/4 inch of the front of the card and opened the card and put that strip on the inside of the card.....see below. Sorry the picture is sideways, but the bottom of the card is to our right - but when you close the card it looks like you did not cut it off. Like I said I feel in love with this stuff and your mind can go wild.......I have done another card, but I am sending it to someone, but after she gets it, I'll post it so you can see.

Once again her name is Barbara J. Trombley at Art Institute Glitter, Inc., website:
From what I am reading on her book that I got she does ship international, but I am sure that she has all of the information you could want on her www site. Please go and check it out, you won't be disappointed.
When we did this - you stamp on her Fantasy Film, then iron the stamped image on Satin Finish on your Iron. Let it cool, then glitter when you want glittered and the cut it out. I'm not kidding when I say this dragonfly looked real. She put it on my shoulder and I got alot of compliments. This below is on my shoulder, but we took a very up close picture, but see the different colors you see in it this time......
Still on my shoulder, picture taken at a different angle, once again - color change. The color of fantasy film I choose was the #1535 in the forest.

I love this stuff. Now I will go and post the card we made. :)

I went to a Stamping/Scrapbook show on 6/1/08 in Glendale, AZ. I feel in love with this new stuff. It is glittering stuff. Her www site is www.artglitter.com - she is in Cottonwood, AZ and will work with you over the phone if you have problems. Anyway she and I made a dragonfly made out of her fantasy film. I'll post it in a second. Then we made a card, which I'll post also. Anyway I LOVEEEEEEEE this stuff.......Here is the kits I bought.

Scrapbook Page 6/6/08

This page that I created today was not intended for this. The flowers are punched out from new punches from Creative Memories. The stems, grass, clouds, bee, ladybug and sun are diecut that I have from Sizzixs. The letters are from Joann's. I can't remember what they are called but they are chipboard and have adhesive on both sides. I glittered one side and then stuck it to the paper on the other side. Then my husband came in and suggested that the clouds, that didn't have any thing on them to put some STICKLES (silver) on them because of the saying "every cloud has it's silver lining".

The original intention for the flowers were for cards, but I couldn't get them to fit on a normal 4x5 card.

But I am very HAPPY with the results. This is the first page of my new album. Which in it will contain pictures of flowers, birds and etc., from the great outdoors. I have tons.

Hope you enjoy!!!!!!

This is my scrapbook room - everyone has been asking me to take pictures of it. So I have done the best that I could do. Yes I do have alot of stuff. But I have been scrapbooking for a very long time. I would have to say it has been about 20 years. Back when you didn't have anything like you do now. I've been tagged

I've been tagged!!!!

The rules of the game get posted at the beginning. Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5-6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.

1) Ten years ago: I decided to move in with my bestfriend which is now my husband. Moved from Kansas to Florida, and what a change that was. I think for the rest of the time that we lived there I got very education in simply life stuff. Stuff I never seen in Kansas, ever! Still when I sit here and think back about what I saw I still can't picture, why some people do what they do. (I'll leave it at that)

2) 5 things in todays ”to do”-list- :1. Take a shower! 2. Go through my stuff from the scrapbook show/rubberstamp show that I went to yesterday, 3. play with my puppies, 4. talk on the phone I'm good at that, 5. play with my new stuff some more......lol

3) Snacks I enjoy: Cheezits, Bob's soft peppermint candy (by my computer all the time)

4) Things I would do if I was a millionaire: Buy a house back in Florida on the beach, so I could have my own house on the beach with my own beach. Buy everything brand new for the house and have people wait on me (cook, clean, etc.) So I could lay in the sand and listen to the ocean 24/7 (there isn't anything more peaceful then that)....I miss Florida's beaches.

5) Places I have lived: Topeka, Kansas, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Hollywood, Florida, Dania Beach, FL, Surprise, AZ and now Phoenix, AZ

Now I am suppose to pass this along to 5-6 people, but I really don't know 5-6 people and some of the people that I know have already done this, so I am gonna send it to the ones that haven't done it............Sorry.......that's all I can do........
